University Teachers’ Conceptions of the University and the Place of Sustainability

In this phenomenographic qualitative research, the aim is to learn about conceptions of university professors university. The study was carried out with 20 professors: 10 from School Social Sciences and Science Technology University Évora an average age 54 years over professional activity. data were collected through open questionnaires then submitted thematic categorical content analysis. appear, in voice teachers, centered on two main aspects. first more mentioned concerns conception as a space production diffusion scientific knowledge, which refers quality factors higher education. second brings relationship society together underlying for human development, cooperation, design sustainable world.
